Filling out the resume portion on Avvo can be dry, but it is a great way to display the work and education that you spent so much time earning. Fill this section out thoroughly and include all information from the states you have practiced in.

The resume section includes license, personal misconduct, work experience, education, awards and associations. This portion is easy to complete, a great way to display your credibility, highly viewed by potential clients, and should be updated on a regular basis.
Personal misconduct is detected when Avvo automatically collects background data online.
Include all the awards you have received and any associations you are affiliated with. Being a member of the state bar is often not enough, start joining committees to increase experience and recognition and boost your involvement in the legal industry.
Include when you were part of the young lawyers division and your current state bar. If you are a woman, look at becoming a member of women’s law groups. It is recommended to be involved in at least 1 or 2 trade organizations or local committees. Even if you are a member but not currently active, include this in your profile.
The more in depth you are able to fill out this section, the better. Fill out all the education you have completed that is relevant to your practice, including your undergraduate degree. Take a moment to brainstorm all of the awards and associations you have received, small and large, and the association who granted them to you.
The resume section of your Avvo profile is the easiest portion to complete. It is the cold, hard facts of your professional background. The difficult part is remembering!
